Q: Where is the Expiration Date on your products. Is the product is still good?

Balance & Harmony lists “Manufacturing Date” on products rather than “Use By” date. When you see Mfg 3/21 for example, it means that product was manufactured March 2021. The product will be effective for a minimum of three years and its potency is maximized when stored in a cool dry place.

Q: Your formulas are extracted using alcohol. I am sensitive to alcohol!

We use distilled water and 200 proof vegetable alcohol in the herb extraction process. When extraction is complete, the powder is dried, milled and encapsulated in vegetable capsules. When preforming a chemical analysis of the herb powders, we do find traces of dried alcohol in the powder. Detection is done using equipment sensitivity to PPB (Parts per Billion). The amount of dried alcohol in a formula is many times less than a ripe banana.

Q: Why is the price higher for some of your products relative to others?

Therapeutically, our products can be considered a bargain. Many products in the marketplace are just ground herbs and are not extracted. Therefore, they require a higher dosage to be effective. Our proprietary formulas are highly concentrated and contain two to five times the amount of pure herbs per dose. Our extraction process uses distilled water and vegetable-based alcohol to extract the oils and nutrients from the herb. This “supernatant” is then sprayed onto fresh herbs from the same batch, then dried. We do not use carriers. After drying, the herb powder is milled and encapsulated using no excipients, binders or flowing agents. Although tableted products are generally less expensive, it may take 3-6 tablets of raw herbs to equal one extracted Balance & Harmony capsule. In addition, Balance & Harmony uses more expensive vegetable capsules which are better tolerated by most people.

Q: On your website the other day you were out of stock, and the formula was unavailable for another two weeks.  Why don’t you have a constant stock of all of your formulas?

High quality herb availability depends on harvest, growing cycles, transportation, testing, and inspection of raw herbs. We do our best to control inventories so you will have each formula when you need it. However, we will not compromise our quality by buying a lesser grade raw herb or cut corners to preempt the temporary inconvenience of being out of stock. We are committed to assuring you that all of our formulas consistently contain the highest quality herbs.

Q:  When is be best time to take my Balance & Harmony formula?  The suggested dosage says “Take 20 minutes to 1 hour before or after eating.” Is this important, or can I take them at other times?

There is no harm in taking formulas when it’s most convenient, but your body will receive the most benefit from supplements on an empty stomach.  This will allow the highest concentration of the product to enter your body so it can start absorbing the product.  When taken with food, the effect is diluted somewhat, and your body may not receive the full benefit from the formula or may get a delayed reaction.

Q: I have a problem swallowing capsules — do you have any tips?

It is a common problem for many. Folks tend to tilt their heads back when swallowing. This action compresses and distorts the throat. Here are two tips:

  • Try putting the capsule in your mouth with a sip of water, then tilt your head down. Capsules naturally float. Then just swallow while your head is tilted forward.
  • Open the capsule and make a tea, or put on food.

Q: What does “suggested dosage” mean and what dosage is right for me?

Exact dosage depends on your size, age, and constitution. Balance & Harmony cannot give the exact dosage that is right for you. This is why we provide a safe dosage range and allow you to determine the appropriate dosage within that range, based on the criteria above.

Q: I took my herbs for the first time this morning and I don’t feel any changes this afternoon.

With some formulas, relief will be felt soon after taking the product like Chill Out for instance; but with other formulas you may not notice a difference for two days or two weeks. Those new to taking herbs often expect instantaneous results.  We would love to give you such a product but our formulas are designed to gently balance rather than aggressively attack imbalance that may affect your condition.

Balance & Harmony uses a truly holistic system that takes into consideration the entire environment that surrounds a particular imbalance.  From this vantage point, herbs not only focus on the main discomforting symptoms but also support the entire body in restoring itself back to balance. Be patient, our formulas are working with your body to bring you back to a balanced state.

​​Q: I have allergies to various things and would like to know how to find out if your products are hypoallergenic?

We declare the presence of any of the major food allergens. We also frequently describe on the label the specific components that the product does not contain to help you make a personal assessment of the suitability of the product for your specific allergic condition. Please check the label regularly, as some formulas change, as do allergens. You should always check with your healthcare professional before taking any dietary supplement if you have any health concerns.

Q: Where do the ingredients for your products come from?

Our ingredients come from a variety of sources that are located all over the world which meets our strict requirements. Ingredients are sampled and inspected for both purity and potency. The specific locations or sources of our raw materials are proprietary to our business as many competitors attempt to reproduce our formulations.

Q: I am currently taking one of your dietary supplements. Can this item be mixed with other supplements?

Yes in many cases, though it varies for each individual’s health needs, supplements can be combined. Of course, you should always read the labels of all the products you are considering to see if any contra-indications exist. We highly recommend that you take personal responsibility for informing yourself to tailor your nutritional program to meet your own health goals. If you have a health question not clearly answered on the labels, consult with your healthcare professional.

Q: Is it safe for me to take your dietary supplements if I have a specific medical problem?

We are in this business because we care about people’s health. Anyone with a medical condition that has a concern about using a supplement product should always consult with their healthcare professional.

Q: What is your return policy?

All our products are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you ever have a quality concern about your product, you must return it to the store where it was purchased. In most cases, the store will provide you with a replacement product or a store credit for your purchase. In the rare cases where a problem with the product may exist, we also work directly with the retail stores to resolve issues.
